FAQ: Your Questions, Answered
-
You will receive a personal consultation for each piece we frame for you. Your bespoke framing is made to measure and to your precise instructions, always to conservation or museum standard as required.
We can advise you on:
frame material, colour and finish, whether you have
glass (standard or anti-reflective or museum grade) or acrylic (perspex) glazing, or a
tray or open frame without glass for a canvas, whether
you’d like your frame black, white, gold, silver or coloured, or a natural wood, which could be raw, stained, waxed, gilded or hand-painted, whether
you need a mount, a slip or a spacer, and if a mount what kind of mount, or
what hanging system best suits the piece; and
we can stretch your art on canvas for you, after which you can decide to have it framed, or hang it unframed.
Please be aware that if you buy frames from non-specialist online or physical retailers they are unlikely to be made with conservation materials and can often be of inferior quality. Over time they can also cause damage to what you frame in them.
